Help Men Stop Drifting and Start Building Together.
Build The Man First can be used as a six-week men’s group framework, fatherhood conversation starter, sermon series companion, accountability track, or leadership development tool for young men.
Built for the Men Who Gather Men
If you lead men — or one young man — this kit gives you a shared language and a simple structure.
Six-Week Group Structure
One move per week. Each week has a focus, one discussion question, and one action step every man commits to.
Center
Put God first — not beside your life, but at the center of it.
What has been sitting at the center of your life lately?
Begin each day this week with prayer before your phone.
Surrender
Take your hands off the wheel. You cannot be led and stay in control at the same time.
What are you still trying to control that needs to be submitted to God?
Identify one area where obedience is required before comfort arrives.
Define
Know who God says you are before pressure, culture, failure, or appetite names you.
What has been naming you more than God’s truth?
Write a one-sentence identity statement rooted in faith, not performance.
Govern
Master what runs you: habits, focus, time, standards, emotions, words, and appetite.
What habit, emotion, appetite, or distraction is currently governing you?
Remove or restrict one distraction for seven days.
Build
Take consistent action with what God has already placed in your hands.
What responsibility have you been delaying?
Finish one unfinished responsibility this week.
Lead
Carry responsibility beyond yourself. What you build was never only for you.
Who is affected by your discipline or your drift?
Have one intentional leadership conversation with someone you influence.
Group Meeting Format
Keep it simple and repeatable. A meeting can run in 60–90 minutes.
- 01Opening prayer
- 02Read the move summary
- 03Discuss the scripture anchor
- 04Answer the weekly reflection question
- 05Identify the weekly action step
